My family is getting ready to go on a short trip to St. Louis this weekend.  It's actually going to be longer than a weekend by 3 days but since its not a full fledged "5 paid vacation days plus the weekends before and after" it'll seem like a short one.  My husband is an amateur astronomer and there is a convention nearby St. Louis so I thought we'd all tag along and see the sites.  So its time to pack up the Happy Camper and hit the road!  Of couse, it'll be filled with knitting projects.  I'm going to continue on the Jaywalkers.

The first go on these had to be frogged since they were too big.  Now I'm afraid they may be too snug.  I think what happened on the first one was that I was rusty knitting on such small needles (#1's) and my gauge may have been loose.  So on the second try, I got the groove going and the stitches are tighter, ummm, maybe too tight.  If they don't fit me then I'll search out someone that they will fit.  I can't bear to frog them again.  I think the yarn will fuzz out beyond my liking.

I'm going to start another pair of Pedicure socks in a different colorway to take along as well.  I think my neices will enjoy the quirkiness of these socks.  And I'll be taking a tote load of cotton yarn to make more Dishcloths.  I'm going to make a stockpile of these and give them out for Christmas extras.  I think I'll send along some small bottles of perty smelling bath liquid or kitchen detergent.  I don't do bars of soap since I hate to clean soap scum off the shower/tub.

I've worked up some new dishcloth patterns for these:

I get restless if I do the same pattern over and over.  So I try to come up with some fresh ideas.  The Basic Modular Dishcloth would be neat done in four different colors (maybe using up scraps) or striping.  I'll try to work some up and add some photos.
