My order of Trekking XXL came in this week!  I'm so excited by the look of this yarn.  I've decided to do the first pair of socks from this batch using the Jaywalker pattern. 

It's been a year or so since I've last knitted with #1 (US) needles and starting out is almost as challenging as the ending.  Sometimes I fudge and do a 3-needle bind off at the toe instead of the kitchener stitch if the socks are for me.  There isn't very much added bulk to actually feel the seam.  Maybe I should be shunned for doing this but until I learn the method for a toe-up version this is just going to be my little secret. 

I don't have many family members who like woolly socks so I may have to come up with some other possibilities for the rest of the Trekking.  Maybe some handwarmers or a teensie mitered square zipper bag for the small stuff.
