Free Pattern: Wedgie Scarf   Yarn: SWTC Karaoke or Noro Kureyon

I love when something comes together simply with not much brain work.  This is one of those things.  It uses a simple short row concept and a nice (NICE!) yarn.  Karaoke was near dreamy to knit and it shows the stitch definition very well.  Time will tell how this will wear.  My guess is that there will be some degree of fuzzing but nothing too bad.

When I design something, I ask the opinions of my family first.  To my shock, the guys both liked this one.  One guy, more specifically my son, wanted to wear it right away.  After I finish taking pics of it, I will try to let him have it.  Scarves are a little easier to lose than hats.  So far he's managed to keep track of my knitted ones.  Maybe he'll do the same with this scarf.

For some reason, I don't like my scarves to have straight edges.  This one joins that category.  And I like color changes and with these two yarns I don't have a zillion yarn tails to weave in.  In fact, the only tails were the beginning and ends.  I used the spit splice method with good results.  I was a bit wary since it is only 50% wool.

If you're a stickler for matching scarf ends, this one isn't for you.  I ended up making a half-wedge to help keep the balance but the shape is still a bit different than the beginning.

It's a bit dark but here's the Kureyon version.  I'm pretty sure the colorway is discontinued since I frogged a boring scarf to knit this one.  I even have one ball left.  If I were one to make New Year's resolutions (and I'm not), I'd resolve to never make boring scarves.

Since I knit without turning my work (knitting backwards, some would say), I worry about my how well my patterns turn out for others.  I make every effort that my small brain can handle but I still fear I will miss something.  If you choose to knit this scarf, I'd love hear any feedback or comments on the instructions-good or bad!

~Inner Monologue:  I must get more color in my posts.  The last few have been grays and blacks and dark.  Think bright.  And I've got just the thing if I can push myself to sew up the seams and stitch on some buttons...~
