Pattern: Patons "Must Have Cardigan" (from Street Smart booklet)  Yarn: KnitPicks Wool of the Andes color: Cherry Blossom

First off, the color in the photo is not true.  My monitor shows is as orangey but its really more of a Raspberry pink or magenta leaning closely to red.  I think I chose a bad background to take the picture but I was going for something fun and artsy.  Definitely didn't get the look I wanted.

This has been a UFO since early last year.  I got sidetracked from finishing it when I started a modular blanket for my dad that was for a Christmas gift.  But I am thrilled with the results.  I substituted the suggested Patons Classic Merino Wool for KnitPicks WotA.  I also charted the whole sweater since it was the only way I could stay sane.  One look at the written instructions and I knew I had to do this visually.

Once I had the pattern charted, the project was relatively simple.  I also had to figure out that yfwd meant yarnover (is that a British term?).  One thing that I liked about this design is that it stops at the top of my hips.  I don't prefer my sweaters longer than that and for a penny pincher, it saves on wool too!

Here's a closeup.  Click on the top photo also for another closeup of the front.  I've worn it once and there is only a slight amount of pilling in the normal areas (armpits, cuffs, sides).  I steam blocked it so I haven't got this thing totally wet yet.  I usually wear a hand wash item several times before washing (don't gross out--I wear something under it to catch those body germies).
