...another knitter inherits their yarn.  At least that was my good fortune last night.  The aforementioned knitter started an afghan many years ago, quit, socked the yarn away, discovered it while preparing for a garage sale and thought of me.  Lucky me!

I can hardly bear the thought of ripping this afghan out but I know I will not finish it.  She produced a very nice beginning to what would have been an heirloom someday.  All wool--hand wash only.  Okay, now I'm convinced it will be ripped.  I hate hand washing and this would be a biggie.  Besides, the color wouldn't go with anything else in my house.  It only looks like it goes with my sofa.  The color is more dull and brownish.  It's screaming to be over-dyed.  And I now have so much of it:

There are 9 skeins here--100gms each!  Plus what's already worked up in the afghan.  Brunswick Germantown worsted.  All very feltable.  Indeed, I have a plan.  First, I have to decide on colors.  From there, I'm sure it'll make some great pillows, tote bag, maybe bowls.  And a super nifty gift to the Knitter who Quit.

On another note, for anyone interesting in expanding their Nubbins dishcloth collection, Trek has provided some expanded versions.  Check them out!
